Nächster Schritt
So, Tür ist montiert und justiert (was ein Kampf!!) hoffentlich setzt sich die neue Dichtung noch, sodass wir keine Gewalt mehr anwenden müssen um sie zu schließen. Aber sie passt!
Tank ist auch montiert, zusammen mit neuem Benzinhahn, überholtem VDO Zubehör-Tankgeber, und originaler Kamei Benzinhahnverlängerung an originaler Kamei Fußraumablage (Bild davon liefere ich noch nach...)

Nun heißt es warten bis der Lackierer die letzten Teile bei bringt! Noch 27 Tage - das wird knapp!!

Next step
Door is installed and adjustet (what a fight!!) Hopefully, the new seal gets a bit better in shape so that I don't have to force the door into the lock. But anyhow, it fits...
Tank is installed as well, together with a new fuel tap, re-newed VDO aftermarket fuel gauge sender, my original Kamei fuel tap extension and my original Kamei leg room tray (I'll post a picture later)

Now i have to wait for the painter to deliver the remaining parts! 27 days left - this is going to be close!!

Doors!

Die erste Tür ist montiert und fertig. Die Elektrik ist nun soweit auch fertig. So langsam wird ein Auto aus dem ganzen Ding! Wird aber auch Zeit - noch 30 Tage!!!

First door is mounted, wiring pretty much done as well - slowly, this thing is turning into a car again! But that's about time - only 30 days left!!



So macht's Spaß....!

So langsam erinnert das ganze wieder an ein Auto! Das Armaturenbrett ist beinahe komplett: Lenkrad, Tacho, Zubehör VDO Benzinanzeige, Radio, Handschuhfach, Zündung, etc. - es fehlen noch ein paar Teile die noch beim Lackierer sind. Vier So-gut-wie-neue Fußmatten passend aus einem 57er sind verbaut genauso wie mein neuer, selbst angefertigter Teppich für den Fußraum und der erste Sitz :-)
Auch  bei der Elektrik macht mein Bruder gute Fortschritte - noch ist nicht alles angeklemmt, aber es passt schon ganz gut!
Die Zeit rennt -bis zum  7.7. ist es nicht mehr lange hin, aber so kann das was werden...

That's fun..!

Slowly the whole thing starts to resemble a car again! Dashboard is almost complete: Steering wheel, speedo, aftermarket VDO fuel gauge, radio, glove box, ignition, etc... only a few parts missing which are still at the paint shop. Four as-good-as-new floormatts from a 57 are installed as well as my new, self-made carpet for the front area and the first seat :-)
The electric system is making progress too. My brother has almost everything wired and it seems to fit quite well!
Time is running - not much left til July 7th, but with this speed we can make it ....

Serious semaphore action!! :-)

Hochzeit
Was ein aufregendes Wochenende!! Nach ziemlich genau 5,5 Jahren war es endlich soweit: Häuschen und Bodengruppe wurden wieder vereint! Problemlos beim ersten Anlauf haben beide Teile zusammengepasst. Jetzt geht die Puzzelei los- die ersten Anbauteile wie Lenkrad, Tacho diverse Knöpfe sind schon eingebaut. Der Neue Kabelbaum ist auch schon montiert und die ersten Kabel angeklemmt! Es geht voran! :-)

Wedding
The last Weekend was the most exciting!! After pretty close 5 years and a half, floorpan and body were reunited! Without problem, both pieces fit well together right at the first time. Now the puzzle needs to be finished- first pieces such as steering wheel, speedo and some buttons are already installed. So is the wiring harness as well as some cables, too! We are making progress

Sonntagsausfahrt

Am letzten Sonntag war endlich mal richtig schönes Wetter. Was lag also näher, als eine kleine Runde mit dem 58er zu drehen ... Oder zumindest von dem was zurzeit so da ist :-)

Sunday cruise

Last sunday, we finally had some really good weather. Taking the 58 for a little spin seemed the only logical thing to do ... or at least taking those things available :-)

Die letzten Tage waren insbesondere für meinen Bruder anstrengend, denn er hat den gesamten 30 PS Motor komplett neu aufgebaut! Mehr als erfolgreich! Aber seht selbst die Bilder und Videos! :-)

The last days have been intense, especially for my brother as has rebuilt the 30 hp engine completely! And he was more than succesful. But take a look at the pictures and video yourself  :-)
